Pages –
Core educational contents are selected
from our published articles and organized into topical
collections:
-
Social Studies: Offers a diverse array of viewpoints by noted

thinking and debate by presenting opposing views on the issues. (Includes such
collections as American Indian Heritage, The Civil War, and Shedding Light on
Islam.)
-
Language Arts: Presents in-depth surveys of the lives and works of
famous writers. Encourages students to develop their own critical thinking and
perspectives. Provides cross-cultural understanding, as well as understanding of
symbolism and other literary elements. (Includes Biographies, Worldwide

Spanish:
Together with our complete basic Spanish course, we offer a weekly Spanish
language program based on authentic Hispanic articles from our sister
publication, Tiempos del Mundo. Audio clips by native speakers help
intermediate and advanced learners internalize rhythm and word stress. The
program includes reading comprehension exercises, vocabulary, idioms and phrasal
verbs.
-
ESL: On a
weekly basis, carefully selected excerpts from authoritative and interesting
news sources highlight aspects of American culture and daily life important to
English language learners. The intermediate and advanced learners can use our
audio clips (furnished by native speakers) to improve their pronunciation.
Exercises in reading comprehension, vocabulary, idioms and phrasal verbs ensure
that students are properly equipped to navigate today’s world.
