Providing Proof of Non-profit Status For customers purchasing in the United States, verification can be done by:
A copy of the customer's determination letter, officially recognizing the corporation's tax-exempt status under 501(c)(3) of the IRS tax code.
Museums may purchase Microsoft
The following nonprofit and charity organizations are excluded from this program:
- Private foundations
- Hospitals not wholly-owned by a university*
- Health-care systems
- Research labs
- Political, labor, or fraternal organizations
- Nonprofit lobbyist groups
*Hospitals wholly owned by a university are eligible for nonprofit pricing.
